The home for people who care

Who are direct care workers?

They are the people who care….individuals who work directly with children, adolescents, and adults in community residencies, residential schools, out-of-home placements, community, rehabilitation and treatment centers.

They provide residential, educational, and vocational services to persons with disabilities.
Also referred to as direct support professionals, they are known by a variety of job titles: residential counselor, personal care attendant, job coach, para-educator, program manager, direct care provider, and many others. Through their work they directly impact the quality of services and life available to persons with disabilities.

To quote one of the first people to sign up on our site:
"…the quality of life for consumers is inextricably related to the quality of Life of the direct service provider."
